FLOOR PLAN GROUND FLOOR

                   HORIZON APARTMENTS FLOOR PLAN 







A floor plan is a drawing made with accurate scaling used to show room divisions on a specific floor of a building. Horizon Apartments is a four-block Apartment residence hence I made one ground floor sketch of block A because the other three blocks also have the same ground floor design. 


For my floor plans
, I used the same software as last term which is Arc site. Arc site provides many features and many components which makes creating floor plans flexible.








As you can see I drew the main shape of the ground floor which is 30 by 20 metres. The scale I am using for my technical drawings is  1m:100cm. I included the surroundings of block A in order to make it easier to visualize its environment. As you can see in the picture I selected the drawing tool which enabled me to demarcate the sections before I used the wall tool to finalize it.


As you can see in the image above the ground floor is split into 6 main sections. The security room, mail room, guest washroom, manager's office, the apartment gym as well as the concierge area. The concierge area is where visitors as well as residents will be welcomed by staff and directed to their designated locations. Guests and residents will also be offered refreshments by concierge staff. As you can see in that section there are also seats which will make relaxation easier 



The apartment gym is 152.12m^2 which can accommodate the residents of all blocks as there are gyms in every block. It is equipped with high-quality equipment such as thread mills, weights, squat racks and cable cross-overs. This will enable residents to stay in shape and achieve their fitness goals



The reception area is where a receptionist will be stationed to answer any enquiry questions potential residents and current residents may have. If their request needs more attention they will be referred to the managers' office which is at the bottom left corner. 




The mail room will house all resident's mail. Each tenant will receive a key to their respective boxes in the mail room to prevent theft. Opposite the main room is the security room. It has been equipped with high-resolution cameras and ultra-led displays connected to the cameras which security men will use to monitor on-site movements. It is also stationed close to the mail room for the security men to monitor activities in the mail room. 




Last but not least in order to make accessibility easier the staircase and elevator have been stationed at the top middle corner. It connects to all floors as well. There is an arrow that also guides individuals towards the accessibility points to make movements easier.  Fire extinguishers will also be positioned on all floors and in the main residential suites to enable fires to be put out on a small scale. In the occurrence of a large-scale fire, all residents will be evacuated using the fire drill method method which will be practised frequently with the aid of official personnel. 





This is the completed ground floor plan which consists of both the interior rooms as well as the demarcated plant spaces and paths for residents which eases circulation. On the left, you can see the AC vents as well as the drains. The AC vent is connected to Air conditioners on the premises and the drains will be used to drain out water after rains or heavy storms to prevent flooding. 


Creating this site plan was not difficult but a task like this needs attention and a lot of time in order to make it accurate. Using the tools and components were not difficult because I also used this software last term. I have also improved because this floor plan is relatively better and more technical than that of last term. 


The first floor and second floor plans which consist of two, three and four bedrooms will be posted as well.
