OBJECT INSPIRATION

Image
INSPIRATION FROM NON LIVING OBJECTS During the lesson, our tutor provided a box with a variety of objects to pick from. There were houses , piggy banks , ropes and so on. However, I selected the flower due to its sophisticated look. The flower has an array of colours with pink being the dominant colour                                          WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE FLOWER In order to fully interpret the object we were given, we were tasked to make a list of words we can use to describe the flower. My list of words were Elegant Eye catching Exquisite Majestic  Mesmerzing Nostalgia Potruding Contemporary Complicated The list can go on and on but these were some of the main words that made my list.  Personally, the flower serves as a relic to what something was, is and can be in the future. The flower was once a plant thay was blooming with many petals and full of life. Now it is dead with no life and dull outlook.      HOW THE FLOWER GAVE ME INSPIRA

INITIAL RESEARCH- FOUNDATION LOUIS VUITTON BUILDING

Image
INITIAL RESEARCH INSPIRATION When I  began my research process regarding this task I was in search of something sophisticated and authentic that stands out from the rest.  FOUNDATION LOUIS VUITTON BUILDING The Foundation Louis Vuitton Building was designed by Frank Gehry and was completed in 2014. According to Mafi (2019), constructing such a large range of horizontal buildings in Paris will be very difficult due to overcrowding. However, with Frank Gehry's expertise, he was able to make this a reality due to accurate measurements, surveying and design. The building has a vessel-shaped delicate glass structure adjacent to the grass plains of the Paris' Bois de Boulogne.  Frank Gehry received his inspiration from French and British glass buildings set in the 19th century. Therefore, after receiving the opportunity to construct a site-gratifying building in Paris' Bois de Boulogne Gehry set to work and produced a masterpiece that bri

PROJECT STATEMENT

Image
PROJECT STATEMENT My first project for the Art Portfolio 1 module will have 6 concept drawings and one final outcome. The project will be based on a pop art theme. I have decided that my long-term task will be an art museum based in the heart of Paris. I chose a Pop Art Theme and an Art museum because the theme will be in sync with the purpose of the building. Pop Art is one of the many themes that is known for its sophisticated building structures in terms of design as well as a contrast of colour. Not forgetting the fact that the pop Art theme conveys a message and at times a metaphorical theme. Therefore, with the Art museum being a pop art theme, residents and tourists will have a lot to look forward to in terms of hidden messages, the beautiful Architectural design of the building and the outburst of cookouts that will be so eye-catching attracting more visitors. The time duration for the planning of my project is eight weeks. Within these eight

INITIAL IDEAS GENERATION

Image
CRAZY EIGHTS IDEA GENERATION During the art portfolio lesson, we were tasked to participate in the crazy eights game . This is because this game will enable eachof us to to illustrate the ideas we have regarding our final projects The first drawing I just let me mind go and brought out what I was thinking with the felt pen The second drawing is also quite similar. It looks like a disoriented building with indefinite shape The third building looks more defined and resembles a building with a wide base and as the building goes towards the apex it begins to narrow The fourth building is quite different. It looks more like a skyscraper with a thin apex The fifth building has a futuristic look. As compared to the preceding buildings this one rather has a wide apex and a thin base with the windows being a mix of different shapes.  The 6th building is a rectangular apartment like building with large rectangular windows in front and smaller squa

FIRST THOUGHT ON PROJECT THEMES

Image
PROJECT THEME    For the second term, there are three main themes to be chosen from. These are primitivism, pop art and industrialism. PRIMITIVISM Primitivism is basically the creation of art work which takes it routes from pre-historic, ancient relics and cultures of the past. Primitive art is a form of type machine artists use to relive past centuries through designing art works and structures with a natural exterior and interior that is in tune with the environment as well as nature. However, primitivism has some form of stereotype around it. People in continents such as Africa, Australia and South America were seen to be connected to the golden age during the early stages of mankind. Hence, were seen as less socially conforming and primtive beings from unruly civilizations. Primitive architecture is also a sustainable way of building due to the natural resources which will be utilized in this building scheme. This would be a

WELCOME

TERM 2: INTRODUCTION      Welcome back to Maniscosmos. Term two has begun and this will be my first official blog of the term. In my first term at DMUIC, I developed my digital skills in website creation and my ability to record information on my blogs through reflection and recording facts. In other classes besides digital arts, I developed my drawing and artistic skills. However, the first term was a tussle for me. This is because I was still adjusting and adapting to the tertiary system of education. I struggled with my time management, and ability to multitask and complete assignments on time. Thankfully, towards the end of the term I was able to get a hold of everything and I passed all my modules   For this coming term, I will see to it that the mistakes I made last term will not be repeated and I will strive to be more hardworking in all endeavors. Self-study was one major aspect I wasn't good with during my first term. In this new term, I will
