SITE PLAN & DEMOGRAPHICS

                                     SITE PLAN ANALYSIS

My Art Portfolio project is a commercial art gallery with a pop art theme. This art gallery will be located in Paris France. A building cannot be constructed without the selection of an appropriate location therefore I have found an area located in Paris where the building will be based

My project is a commercial Art Gallery therefore situating it in a business district is a great business strategy to attract customers. It will be situated in Ilot Fertile located in the Buttes Chaumont district of Paris.

The Ilot Fertile is surrounded by many restaurants, shopping centres as well as transport routes. This will make it easier for customers to satisfy their needs and wants as well as navigate their way back to their residences.

                                                              DEMOGRAPHICS

Buttes- Chaumont is the 19th district in Paris with a population of 181,616 people( 2021). It has a total area of 6.790km^2 with a population density of 26,748/km^2

According to a 2020 census of Buttes-Chaumont, 87,000 people were males whilst 95,464 were females.

With this age distribution graph, it is evident that Buttes Chaumont has a youthful population as the middle section of the age bars is broader. The largest age group is the 20 to 29-year-olds with a value of 29,804 people. It is closely followed by 30 to 39-year-olds with a value of 28,511 people. 10 to 19-year-olds in Buttes de Chaumont are 20,464.

With the graph, it is evident that as the age group increases the number of people increases. The age group with the lowest number of residents is that of the 90 and above with 1,513 residents.

According to a 2020 census, 153,233 residents are French locals while 29,978 are foreigners residing in Buttes-Chaumont

 Buttes-Chaumont has many side attractions which include;

PARK DE VILLETTE

Park de Villete which is the largest park in France.

                                                   CITES DE SCIENCE ET INDUSTRIE

From June to September, the average temperatures reach a low of 55°F (13°C) and a high of 77°F (25°C). Temperatures can reach 86°F (30°C), but it is on rare occasions. However, the heat in this city is humid and it can be draining to walk through of Paris during extremely warm days.

Winters in Paris are cold, although not frequently freezing. The typical temperature ranges from 33°F (1°C) to 44°F (7°C). Winter brings stronger rains and perhaps snowfall.

The North Atlantic Drift, which originates from the Atlantic Ocean mostly influences Paris's moderate oceanic climate, which is categorized as Cfb under the Köppen climatic classification system. The city experiences little seasonal variations in temperature, with highs of 24.6°C (76.3°F) and lows of 1.8°C (35.2°F) throughout the year.

Over the year, humidity levels remain quite low, ranging from 68 to 86%. The year-round occurrence of precipitation, in the form of snowfall and rainfall, reaches its maximum during the colder months, with December recording the highest totals. Paris experiences 3.8 to a maximum of 9.3 hours of sunshine every year, despite the city experiencing a substantial amount of cloud cover, which ranges from 37 to 60%. The wind speed ranges from 9.9 km/h (6.2 mph) to 15.4 km/h (9.6 mph), with the strongest gusts being in the winter.

  1. You need to do an in-depth post on the area and why your gallery is needed and what you think it can offer the area, also why Paris is the place you have chosen (the history of Arts in Paris). This is not enough in this post.

Would also like to see you talk about your background research into Pop Art.
