            INDUCTION SESSIONS AT VIJAY PATEL WORKSHOPS

Due to the complexity of the projects and this module to be exact, getting trained by professionals is of high importance. The workshops will enable me to build upon the practical skills I already possess. This post will be based on the plastic moulding workshop I attended to gain more insight into that particular craft

                                                         

The workshop began by the tutor giving us information on the health and safety tips we are supposed to abide by whilst using the workshop. This is concerning the machines we can use and the machines that cannot be operated without the guidance of the workshop operators. The machines with green labels can be used without supervision, machines with yellow/ amber labels can be used without supervision if you have experience in using it and the machines with red labels cannot be used without supervision because they are extremely dangerous.

The next thing we did was to carve a chair with the gray foam. Before that, we were showed the kind of carving tools we can use that will yield the best results

The next thing I did was to  attach pieces wood shaped like a chair to the foam because the chair is going to be formed from the foam with the help of the wooden pieces

After I attached the pieces, I then went to the hot cutter that would carve out the chair from the foam. This machine must be operated wisely this is because the vertical metal is heated in order to cut plastic to
