PRE PROJECT PLAN OUTLINE/ TUTORIAL SIGN OFF

TUTORIAL SIGN OFF

Week 3 in Art Portfolio was mainly dedicated to tutorials. There were not many classes so instead of our usual class sessions there were studio sessions where we were supposed to develop our ideas and continue with my blogs. I was able to complete a few initial sketches but they weren't up to my desired taste. I will come back to my self-criticism but for now, let me delve into what my tutorial entailed.

It started off with my tutor reviewing my pre-project plan outline which includes my main objectives, tasks I will accomplish according to each week as well as the materials I will be using.

In my project brief, I was supposed to design a social unit with a holding capacity of 200 residents but I negotiated for it to be brought down to 120 residents.

To make my site plan look better I suggested that I will want to purchase pro markers from the Works to make my site plan sketch look more professional and accurately done.

My tutor also pointed out that my sketches weren't the best and I also know that as well. I will try my best this weekend to create 4 or 5 thorough sketches of what I want my final outcome to be like.

I am also yet to add these sketches to my initial blogs so I will have to scan them using the printer before uploading it.

The Horizon Tower social housing unit will be located at the North of Cromwell and to be precise Washington Road/ Court Street. I will also have to conduct demographic research and accurate site plan analysis and post them on my blog.

I can't neglect the environment therefore designing gardens and public spaces will be key.

Now that I am done with what my blog entailed I need to reinstate the self-criticism I made at the beginning of my blog. First of all, I am not used to drawing apartment-like structures which is why my current building ideas are quite weird and off-looking.  Therefore to catchup, I will dedicate the weekend and the few weekdays left of week 3 to making several sketches to better understand the process leading to the outcome of an exquisitely structured residential unit.

On that note, the next blog after this will be based on the further sketches I am yet to make.
