GARDEN, PLAYGROUND AND PARKING WITH ROOM PLANNER

 ROOM PLANNER FOR INTERIOR CONCEPTS

Room Planner is an interior app used by designers to create concepts of living spaces, gardens, gyms etc. This was not the first time I used a room planner as I had used it earlier last year to complete my high school portfolio.  I made the personal decision in order to design the interiors because I dont only want to envision the exterior. I also want to design the interiors and take into consideration the internal design and aesthetics

The image above is of the home page interface of the room planner app. On it you can see the section for the garage, the outdoor space which is the garden and playground

For the garage, I began by drawing the main ground for the garage. The garage is a 100 car capacity but I only designed the first level for this project. On the right you can see a black strip which is the road that leads to the garage.

The next thing to do was to switch up the interior colour. By default the walls are white but I changed the colour to grey which represents low-carbon concrete.

I then added in ceiling lights because lights will improve visibility as there is no natural light

In order to link the underground parking to each residential block, I added in the elevator component from the inventory. The underground parking spreads out across the lower ground level of all floor blocks therefore the elevator will take residents straight to the ground floor. I did not make the elevator take residents straight to their flats because of safety and security reasons.

The next task was to design the garden and the playground. As you can see I started with the main default layout. It was too small so I enlarged it using the double sided arrow at the bottom right corner.

After extending the walls I then added in a space for the garden

In the two processes above I was adding in components from the inventory which was not difficult. As you can see you can use real-life products in your design. The play tunnel I used was from Ikea. This gives a 3d visualization as well as relating the design to real life products

UNDERGROUND PARKING

Overall, this process was not difficult as I am already accustomed to this process. However, I had to restart the underground parking because I forgot to save the changes. Luckily I noticed on time and redid the parking space. Using Room Planner enabled me to envision what I wanted to create.
