REFLECTION

REFLECTION ON WORK DONE THROUGHOUT THE SECOND TERM  The Art Portfolio module began at the beginning of January and all too soon the first segment of this module has come to an end. In the first weeks, it was mostly about icebreaker challenges and familiarizing ourselves with the module. In the third week, the real work began as we needed to begin the formal planning towards our final outcomes. I made several sketches but at that point, I had still not found a concrete design In consecutive weeks after I picked the pop art thee, my idea began to make sense and with the help of my tutor I finalized my design. One major thing Art Portfolio has taught me is time management. Before this course, I could barely manage my extra school hours wisely because of improper planning. However, as time went on I became accustomed to the workload. The Art Portfolio module has also developed my expertise in 3D and 2D model making. With constant practice, I developed my sketching abilities as well as my a

FLOOR PLAN WITH ARCSITE

FLOOR PLAN Initially, I used a smart draw for my floor plans. However, I experienced technical challenges and the floor plans I made were lost. To improvise I used a different Architecture software named ArcSite in doing this.  caption began by drawing the main features according to the scale I used throughout my project which is 1m:50 cm I then began to add in the various rooms. Some of these rooms are the guest lounge room, the enquiry office as well and the reception area not forgetting the male and female urinals which are all on the ground floor.       ,Next I applied the same method to draw the first floor floor plan. Unlike the ground floor, the first floor has exhibition spaces which are both physical and virtual exhibitions.                       This is the final outcome of my floor plans displayed on the design board

MAKING CHANGES TO MY WEBSITE.

Image
WEBSITE CHANGES To add my new portfolio to the website I had to upload the images from photshop. I did this by selecting the gallery option then I tapped on upload and arranged the pictures according to the required layout After making changes to the desktop site, I also had to make changes to the mobile app website I did this by selecting the mobile phone option at the top of the screen. Afterwards, I edited the text layout and images for it to follow a chronological order Afterwards, I had to also edit the buttons to fit the page. This process was not difficult and I finished this in less than a minute. I then changed the header name at the top of my site from Nueli Architecture to Manuela Mantey still maintaining the same font The newly edited portfolio paged after I edited my website Newly edited Home page with a new background Newly edited Home page with a new background

USING PHOTOSHOP FOR DESIGN BOARDS

Image
PHOTOSHOP FOR DESIGN BOARDS First of all, to create the background for my boards, I had to open the Adobe Photoshop app.  To select the board I loaded more presets selected the A3 board and made it landscape. I then created a blank canvas  This is what one of my design boards looked like after editing it with the required texts and images To save my design board accurately to upload to the website, I selected file, save then click on save a s a copy. Then a drop-down menu was displayed like the one below. On the drop-down menu, I selected JPEG and renamed my document. Using Photoshop was quite challenging at first but as I practiced more I became better at it. DESIGN BOARDS

HAND MADE OUTCOME PROCESS

Image
HAND MADE OUTCOMES As part of the objectives of my project, I am required to make 6 2D outcomes which can be made by either hand or digitally. I then decided to make handmade outcomes of my site plan, concept sketch, elevations as well as sections.                                                    SOUTH AND WEST ELEVATIONS I made these sketches using a drawing board. I began by drawing the main outlines with a scale which is1m:50cm.  I used an H pencil when drawing therefore my pencil marks were quite light in the beginning. After using a pencil, I then drew over it with an ink pen. SOUTH ELEVATION                                                                     WEST ELEVATION                                                                 SECTION SKETCHES A section shows the inner view of a room. Hence. I had to use the same measurements and scale I used for the elevations in this as well. The major difference is the fact that inner fu

SKETCHUP PROCESS

USING SKETCHUP IN MAKING A DIGITAL MODEL                             OF TALENT MAGNIFIQUE ART GALLERY Sketchup is a digital software that enables students as well as professionals in the stem industry to create designs of homes, schools, offices and other commercial buildings. Relying only on hand sketches in this digitalized era will make you standard as well as having a limited range of skills. Therefore, I included SketchUp in the process of creating my final outcomes. I acquired beginner skills in SketchUp last term after I practiced with basic elements. To take it up a notch, I planned to design a stacked Architecture building with a fusion of pop art. I began by drawing the foundation of the Art Gallery using the rectangle tool on the tool panel  To draw the ground floor, I also used the rectangle tool, afterwards, I used the enlarging tool to make the flat 2D shapes into 3D shapes. This aspect was quite tricky. To create the curved shapes on the sides,
