REFLECTION

REFLECTION ON WORK DONE THROUGHOUT THE SECOND TERM  The Art Portfolio module began at the beginning of January and all too soon the first segment of this module has come to an end. In the first weeks, it was mostly about icebreaker challenges and familiarizing ourselves with the module. In the third week, the real work began as we needed to begin the formal planning towards our final outcomes. I made several sketches but at that point, I had still not found a concrete design In consecutive weeks after I picked the pop art thee, my idea began to make sense and with the help of my tutor I finalized my design. One major thing Art Portfolio has taught me is time management. Before this course, I could barely manage my extra school hours wisely because of improper planning. However, as time went on I became accustomed to the workload. The Art Portfolio module has also developed my expertise in 3D and 2D model making. With constant practice, I developed my sketching abilities as well as ...

FLOOR PLAN WITH ARCSITE

Image
FLOOR PLAN Initially, I used a smart draw for my floor plans. However, I experienced technical challenges and the floor plans I made were lost. To improvise I used a different Architecture software named ArcSite in doing this.  caption began by drawing the main features according to the scale I used throughout my project which is 1m:50 cm I then began to add in the various rooms. Some of these rooms are the guest lounge room, the enquiry office as well and the reception area not forgetting the male and female urinals which are all on the ground floor.       ,Next I applied the same method to draw the first floor floor plan. Unlike the ground floor, the first floor has exhibition spaces which are both physical and virtual exhibitions.                 ...

MAKING CHANGES TO MY WEBSITE.

Image
WEBSITE CHANGES To add my new portfolio to the website I had to upload the images from photshop. I did this by selecting the gallery option then I tapped on upload and arranged the pictures according to the required layout After making changes to the desktop site, I also had to make changes to the mobile app website I did this by selecting the mobile phone option at the top of the screen. Afterwards, I edited the text layout and images for it to follow a chronological order Afterwards, I had to also edit the buttons to fit the page. This process was not difficult and I finished this in less than a minute. I then changed the header name at the top of my site from Nueli Architecture to Manuela Mantey still maintaining the same font The newly edited portfolio paged after I edited my website Newly edited Home page with a new background Newly edited Home page with a new background

PLANNING TOWARDS ART PORTFOLIO ONE PROJECT Week 7 has begun and this week, I will begin the 3d planning phase of my project. This involves the tools and materials to be used, the time scale that will be needed for me to complete my project as well as how this will be presented in my portfolio.  My project is an art gallery which has a contemporary theme which is slightly infused with ultra-modern architecture hence, beginning the development stage will ensure that I achieve a high-quality end product First and foremost, the materials I decided to use were clear acrylic, coloured acetate, mountboard, and wood for the platform, as well as store-bought plants for the environment.                                                    3D MODEL MAKING WORKSHOP  To cut out precise pieces of acrylic for the gallery windows, I...

THE RED SUN PAVILLION

Image
FURTHER RESEARCH                           SERPENTINE GALLERY BY JEAN NOUVEL SERPENTINE GALLERY The  Serpentine galleries are a set of galleries opened to the public at specific times during the year. The 2010 edition was designed by Jean Nouvel and was opened from the 10th of July 2010 to the 17th of October of the same year. The gallery was built in Hyde Park which is located in London. Placing this Pavilion in Hyde Park was a superb decision. This is because the gallery was only opened temporarily during the summer. Therefore, the striking red colour of the structure would easily attract passersby who are enjoying the warm summer weather. The red colour of the gallery compliments the green summer grass giving Hyde Park a highlighted spot durin...

MATERIALS AND SUSTAINABILITY

Image
MATERIALS AND SUSTAINABILITY After I have completed the prototype of my project, I have to consider the materials I will utilize in my real-life project. My project is a commercial art gallery situated in Ilot Fertile. This place is known for its low carbon levels hence using sustainable materials for my construction will maintain the balance of nature in that area.  Besides my personal research, construction this post will also be based on the construction materials used in the building of the Ilot Fertile high-rise buildings     LIMESTONE Limestone is a sedimentary rock which consists of calcium carbonate in the form of calcite. From my previous geography classes during my IGCSE and A levels, I learnt that limestone is formed through both a biological and chemical process. With the biological process, when shellfish in the ocean die out, the...
